The Tax Manager plays a critical role in overseeing InvestCloud’s global tax compliance, reporting, and provision processes while supporting strategic tax planning initiatives. This role partners closely with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, and external advisors to ensure compliance with tax laws, accurate reporting, and effective management of tax risk, while identifying opportunities to optimize tax efficiency.

A great Tax Manager goes beyond compliance—bringing clarity, rigor, and strategic thinking to tax reporting and planning. This individual acts as a trusted advisor to finance leadership, combining deep technical expertise with strong business judgment to ensure accurate reporting, proactive risk management, and thoughtful collaboration across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review the effective tax rate, cash tax rate, tax account reconciliations, tax account analyses, and tax reserves, including all computational and reporting aspects of ASC 740.
- Support the preparation and review of tax journal entries, as well as cash flow and balance sheet account analyses.
- Identify, analyze, and document uncertain tax positions.
- Serve as a key liaison and business partner with external advisors (tax planning, audit, R&D, and tax compliance) to ensure timely communication and coordination on tax filings and potential impacts.
- Prepare and review foreign tax provisions.
- Review U.S. federal, state, and international tax compliance forms prepared by third-party service providers.
- Prepare and submit quarterly estimated income tax payments.
- Manage and mentor the indirect tax analyst.
- Research tax law implications related to planning activities, transactions (including acquisitions), audits, transfer pricing, and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with tax planning, FP&A, accounting, and treasury teams to understand transactions and data impacting tax provisions and returns.
- Assist with tax audits and special projects as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement in tax processes, documentation, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Preferred Skills, Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.
- Minimum 7 years of corporate tax experience with a strong focus on tax provision and compliance.
- Deep knowledge of ASC 740 and corporate income tax accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reconciliations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to partner cross-functionally and with external advisors.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with NetSuite and Avalara strongly preferred.
- SaaS, fintech, or technology industry experience a plus.
- Travel Requirement: 0–10%

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on the applicant’s geographic location. Salary range: $165,000 - $185,000.
