About the Role:
BURN is looking for a  Business Development Manager who will be responsible for driving growth through institutional pipeline generation, partnership development, and commercial modelling across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. This role leads top-of-funnel generation for institutional cookstove sales and coordinates partnerships that unlock scale for the business unit. The BDM supports strategy development, project management, and execution of briquette supply coordination.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Pipeline & Partnerships Development
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of institutional stove prospects.
  • Lead outreach to NGOs, government agencies, and private-sector partners.
  • Represent BURN in external meetings and ecosystem engagements.

  • Develop commercial and operational models for institutional stoves.
  • Conduct pricing, sizing, and cost-modelling for solutions.
  • Support BU leadership with strategic planning.

  • Track progress of partner engagements and pilot activities.
  • Coordinate briquette supplier integration and deliveries.

  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Key Accounts, Marketing, and Logistics teams.
  • Prepare management reports and insights for leadership.

Skills and Experience:
  • Degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years in business development, partnerships, or project management.
  • Strong modelling and analytical capability.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale projects, preferably across African markets
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
