As part of the Data Science team at Xeneta, you will build high-impact data solutions and algorithms that deepen our understanding of global freight markets. Your work will enhance data quality, improve data ingestion pipelines, and answer questions we did not know even existed. You will help us deliver meaningful analytics that empower our customers throughout the entire value chain.
What You Will Be Doing
- You will develop and deploy data solutions to solve business problems.
- You will interpret and communicate complex findings to non-technical and technical audiences.
- You will mentor data scientists and promote best practices.
- You will develop predictive models impacting strategic objectives.
- You will work with product managers, data analysts, software engineers, business representatives, and other stakeholders to understand their problems and design solutions.
- You will contribute to our data-driven culture and community by sharing your knowledge and expertise with the team and with the company.
Your Profile And Experience
We’re looking for a Mid-level or Senior-level candidate to join our team.The professional skills and competencies we are looking for in a mid-level candidate:
- 2+ years of experience in a Data Scientist role, with a proven track record of delivering analytical and/or ML solutions.
- Strong fundamentals in applied statistics, time-series analysis, and ML/AI algorithms.
- Good proficiency in manipulating data using Python.
- Good proficiency using SQL.
- Experience with dbt and Snowflake.
- Strong proficiency with visualisation libraries (matplotlib, seaborn, ggplot).
- Working knowledge of AWS services (SageMaker, S3, Glue, Athena, QuickSight).
- Basics of Docker, Git, Terraform.
- 4+ years of experience in a Data Scientist role, with a proven ability to lead complex data science or ML projects from conception to deployment.
- Knowing when (not) to use ML or AI.
- Deep expertise in applied statistics, time-series analysis, and ML/AI algorithms.
- Demonstrated experience developing predictive models.
- Excellent proficiency in Python or R.
- Strong proficiency in using SQL and NoSQL.
- Solid experience with dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Streamlit, and Athena.
- Expertise in data visualisation tools and libraries (matplotlib, seaborn, ggplot).
- Excellent knowledge of AWS services (SageMaker, S3, Glue, Athena, QuickSight).
- Proficiency with DevOps and infrastructure tools (Docker, Git, Terraform, Jenkins, Step Functions).
Nice to have:
- Advanced certifications across Snowflake, dbt, or AWS (e.g., ML Specialty, Data Analytics Specialty).
- Experience architecting or scaling production ML systems (e.g., feature stores, MLOps pipelines).
- Experience with Deep Learning frameworks.
- Experience with Spark, and Airflow.
- You are a team player, and you enjoy learning and improving the team around you and yourself.
- You have strong communication skills and being able to present complex topics clearly.
- You have strong project management and organizational skills.
- You have a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, curiosity, and daring when venturing into unknown territory.
- Comfortable working with stakeholders, being able to challenge assumptions and saying no if needed, when backed by data.
- You have a keen eye for detail.
- You have a get-things-done attitude.
- Above all, you are curious.
