Join the BNZ Transformation & Business Enablement Business Unit as part of the Systems Enablement team within Operational Excellence. Our team is responsible for ensuring that several key systems within Operational Excellence are managed effectively and adapted to meet future needs, including end user configuration and ongoing system administration. This role will play a key part in supporting the Procurement system.
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
This role can be based in Auckland or Wellington and is a 12-month fixed term position. It is a hybrid role with three days in the office and two days where you can work flexibly.
We sat down with the Senior Manager (Who you’ll report to), and they told us the following about the role:
What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
- Partner with Operational Excellence, Risk and BNZ Technology teams to develop and maintain strong systems documentation for new and existing system implementations.
- Produce clear, concise and comprehensive documentation ensuring complex information is understandable for all stakeholders.
- Design and implement system enhancements, upgrades and new solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Build relationships with vendors where needed and support Coupa release management during major version upgrades to ensure safe adoption and availability by BNZ.
- Act as a subject matter expert, provide technical guidance, problem solving capability and share and promote best practice.

What projects / work will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?
There is an exciting roadmap of upcoming work, and you will be helping to document current and future state system design, supporting testing of new system configuration and helping to move system changes through environments and into production.
Bring your proven skills and experience to help drive and maintain best practice across both the upcoming transformation journey and BAU tasks. Provide coaching and mentoring to help other team members achieve the same.
What technical skills / skills are required for this role?
- Strong documentation, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Significant experience managing the configuration and release of SaaS solutions.
- Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and independently.
- Ability to effectively manage expectations and accept accountability for deadlines and outcomes.
- Proven agility and flexibility to deal with fast moving and changing business environments.
- Ability to build excellent working relationships with diverse business and technology stakeholders.
- Curiosity to grow and learn a wider range of systems and services across operational excellence.
Other Desirable Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar system analyst tole requiring similar analytical skills.
- A background in procurement systems, with an understanding of end-to-end processes.
- Experience in coaching others on best practice.
