We are looking for a talented Industrial Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing in Rocky Mount, NC.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Standardize Work MethodsYou'll help create consistent, efficient procedures for new and existing production lines, improving productivity and reducing variability.
- Design Safe WorkstationsBy applying ergonomic and layout principles, you'll contribute to safer, more comfortable, and efficient manufacturing environments.
- Support Cost-Efficient DecisionsYour cost analysis on make vs. buy scenarios will guide strategic choices that optimize resources and reduce expenses.
- Enhance Operational EfficiencyYour input into workstation and process design will streamline operations and minimize waste.
- Improve Employee ExperienceErgonomic designs will reduce strain and injury risk, boosting morale and long-term workforce sustainability.
- Enable Scalable ProductionStandard work methods will support consistent training and easier scaling of production lines.
- Contribute to Strategic PlanningYour analysis will inform leadership decisions on sourcing and production strategies.
- Drive Continuous ImprovementYour involvement in refining processes and layouts will support ongoing improvement initiatives across the plant.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Strong communication skills to tailor messages across technical and operational audiences.
- Understanding of ergonomic fundamentals to design safe, comfortable workstations.
- Commitment to health and safety practices that foster an injury-free workplace.
- Ability to perform line balancing to optimize labor and machine efficiency.
- Proficiency in manufacturing simulation tools for data-driven process design.
- Solid manufacturing knowledge to implement effective process and equipment changes.
- Skill in process layout and work measurement to reduce waste and improve flow.
- Appreciation for diverse perspectives and collaboration to drive shared success.
- Capability in continuous process improvement using structured methodologies.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings to align product and process design.
- Knowledge of industrial engineering principles for efficient process development.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Basic level of relevant work experience required.
Additional Information:
- Individual might have 1 or 2 direct technician reports to manage.
- Value Stream Mapping and Cycle Time improvements in engine assembly processes.
- Proficient in Powerbi and Microsoft Office Tools (required)
- General manufacturing process knowledge (nice to have).
