How You’ll Make an Impact
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing detailed process plans that align with customer end-item requirements, ensuring production instructions are clear, effective, and achievable. This role requires collaboration with production teams, quality engineers, and suppliers to optimize manufacturing processes, evaluate engineering approaches, and contribute to process improvements. A successful candidate will bring a solid understanding of shop practices, machine capabilities, and external processing methods to the table.
What you’ll be doing as a Manufacturing Engineer:
- Working a Full-time, onsite position at our Chatsworth, CA location.
- Develop and provide written work instructions for production processes.
- Create detailed drawings and models to support work instructions.
- Execute process routings, drawings, inspection plans, and related documentation updates.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes to drive product development and implement corrective actions.
- Assist the quoting team by providing methods, time estimates, and cost data for customer quotations.
- Participate in resolving customer complaints and lead corrective/preventive action investigations.
- Maintain regular communication on project status and milestones with internal stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing activities.
- Other responsibilities as assigned, based on business needs.
Required Qualifications (Education, skills, and experience):
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong multi-tasking abilities, with a focus on meeting timelines and budgets.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical thinking capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Education, skills, and experience):
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a machine shop environment.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA).
- Working knowledge of AS9100 quality management standards.
- Ability to interpret and implement customer drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong understanding and application of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma principles.
- Fundamental understanding of machine shop practices and external processing.

Work Environment:
A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.
Compensation And Benefits:

The Manufacturing Engineer Compensation range for onsite California applicants is $70,000 - $100,000 annually commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
