The IT Support Specialist is primarily responsible for configuring, maintaining, and deploying firm computers. Additionally, they will troubleshoot and affect repair on firm technology equipment, provide on-site, telephone and remote support to all firm employees, and maintain inventory of all computer systems including sign-out equipment.

The IT Support Specialist is a hourly non-exempt position and will work full time from our Columbus, Ohio office.
What You'll Do
Physical Requirements
- Provide onsite helpdesk support to the local office, as well as remote support to all other locations.
- Assist all technical support teams and serve as a resource for Level 1 Support Technicians on difficult tickets.
- Work to improve Helpdesk processes and efficiencies.
- Manage repairs of computer equipment.
- Maintain technology inventory.
- Build and deploy computers and coordinate hardware repairs with vendors.
- Set up, train and maintain firm dictation and transcription equipment.
- Perform basic phone programming.
- Record and track all support activities using IT support software.
- Provide support for personal mobile devices and general computer or printing problems whether onsite or remote.
- Set up and dismantle conference room equipment.
- Support audiovisual needs for seminars or meetings onsite and offsite, whether during business hours or after hours.
- Participate in after-hours support on a rotating on-call basis.
- Assist with scheduled or emergency after-hours equipment projects, troubleshooting and repairs.
- Occasional travel to other office locations as needed.
- At least 5+ years in IT related support experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Exhibit expertise in Office 365, specifically with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook along with a working knowledge of Windows 11.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent “people” skills with a great amount of patience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High-degree of composure and professionalism under pressure. Also, a high level of professionalism in both conduct and appearance.
- Working knowledge of document management systems.
- Familiarity with basic project management concepts.
Physical Requirements
- Bending, stooping or crawling required when installing, maintaining or affecting repairs to computer system.
- Standing or walking frequently to provide user support.
- Occasional lifting and moving objects (up to 50 lbs.).
- Manual dexterity to use computer, telephone and peripherals.
