  • Build and implement commodity strategies by working with category managers and engineering on specific power cord requirements for each product category.
  • Manage material readiness—monitor and coordinate with suppliers and partners to ensure power cord and component availability lines up with project milestones.
  • Screen global power cord manufacturers and JDMs/CM for capability, competitiveness, and fit with Dyson’s requirements. Lead supplier selection, negotiations, and allocation.
  • Drive complex negotiations—achieve best cost, quality, and adaptability outcomes for Dyson, whether dealing with CM/JDMs or other suppliers.
  • Support rapid demand change management—work with supply chain teams on expedited power cord allocations and critical priorities.
  • Coordinate exposure management—support operations and contract manufacturers to minimise obsolete or excess power cord materials through smart scheduling, cancellation, and rescheduling.
  • Assist RDD and engineering in power cord evaluation and validation builds—lead supplier support for prototypes, pilot runs, and ramp-ups.
  • Lead BOM analysis and price control—break down power cords by component, review costs, and manage price variance.
  • Support BOM and AVL management—work with category managers to scrub BOMs, guide longevity decisions, and steer AVL use.
  • Drive risk assessment and mitigation—work with category managers to spot risk components and develop power cord supply solutions.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, engineering, or related field
  • Credentials in procurement and/or supply chain
  • Experience in Commodity management, especially in power cord sourcing
  • Proven record of defining and executing commodity strategies
  • Strong supplier performance and risk management skills
  • Expert negotiator—comfortable in both monopolistic and competitive environments
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work independently with drive and initiative
  • Project management experience is a bonus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, or similar analytics tools
