Position Summary:
The Human Resources Manager – Multi-State is responsible for providing strategic and hands-on HR leadership across multiple states within a healthcare environment. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws while delivering high-quality HR services in employee relations, performance management, compliance, talent management, and organizational development. Experience in healthcare is required; behavioral health experience is strongly preferred.
This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and managers, ensuring HR practices support clinical care delivery, staff engagement, regulatory compliance, and a positive workplace culture.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the organization's goals.
- Partner with VP of HR to provide support and guidance to managers and employees on HR-related issues, including employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states (e.g.,FMLA, ADA, ACA, Wage & Hour, Workers’ Compensation, Paid Sick Leave laws, LOAs and final pay requirements).
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures as needed.
- Support and may coordinate with the Training Manager, employee training and development programs to enhance skills and performance.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote employee engagement and retention.
- Oversee HR processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee data management, compliance, monthly HR Dashboard and HRIS accuracy.
- Responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring timely changes and communication.
Qualifications
Education And Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP is highly desirable.
- At least 4 years of experience in HR management or a related role.
- Experience in employee training and development is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Human Resources Manager or similar HR role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
