The Senior Accountant will be responsible for providing technical review and guidance to management staff in their analysis and independent research on regulatory guidelines, financial analysis, internal accounting procedures, and accounting pronouncements. The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining lines of communication with other sections with Corporate Accounting as well as the operating and support areas of the Company, and affiliates accounting departments, to ensure accurate regulatory and SEC accounting and financial reporting. Additional responsibilities include delegating, monitoring, and performing thorough, detailed reviews of assignments, as well as coaching staff to higher levels of performance. Core Responsibilities
  • Must be committed to the Way We Work Principles, adherence to the Company's Standards of Business Conduct and other Company procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S).
  • Perform detailed and SOX-compliant review of staffs journal entries and disclosures for the Companys SEC Form 10-K and 10-Q filings, as well as regulatory filings.
  • Research and review FASB, SEC and FERC/PSC accounting standards and requirements, and ensure the proper implementation of new accounting standards of all CEI companies.
  • Review and oversee the preparation of new and revised accounting opinions and general accounting procedures, ensuring proper accounting, documentation, and implementation. Maintain focus on management staffs preparation of general accounting procedures to meet departmental KPI.
  • Review staffs analysis of various liabilities and reserves. Lead clear, focused, and efficient meetings with business users or law to discuss adequacy of existing reserves.
  • Oversee the preparation of employee benefit plans' financial statements, including review of tie-out binders.
  • Oversee staffs timely response to requests from internal and external auditors and prepare documentation for complex audit matters.
  • Perform other tasks and assignments as required.
  • Lead teams for projects such as system imlpementations or upgrades or new standard imlementations, as required.
Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, or Economics and a minimum of 3 years of work experience in Accounting or Finance. or
  • Master's Degree Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 2 years of work experience in Accounting or Finance.
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Master's Degree Accounting or Finance and Minimum of 2 years of work experience in Accounting or Finance.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in Accounting or Finance, required.
  • Supervisory experience of accounting personnel, preferred.
  • Auditing experience at a public accounting firm, required.
Skills and Abilities

Licenses and Certifications
  • Driver's License Required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) CPA preferred Upon Hire Preferred
