The Sr. Scrum Master will support a product team working on one of our supply chain initiatives - tools and capabilities that help us move inventory more accurately and efficiently across the network. The team could work across forecasting, replenishment, and warehouse to warehouse workflows.
Provide servant-leadership and mentorship to a cross-functional agile team. Apply Lean/Agile principles and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban Method and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)) to guide and serve teams that deliver technology solutions. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
- Facilitate team organization and ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily scrums/stand-ups, sprint/iteration reviews/demos and retrospectives)
- Coach team members on Agile values/principles, such as collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and transparency
- Identify and remove any impediments/distractions that interfere with the team's ability to deliver against their commitments
- Facilitate the creation and adoption of working agreements and definitions of done, including the use of appropriate tools, standards and best practices
- Ensure the Kroger Technology team tracks and communicates team progress and metrics to the appropriate audiences
- Facilitate and enable an environment of collaboration and creativity, and empower the team to self-organize around achieving their commitments
- Support/empower the Kroger Technology team to make appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition
- Challenge and enable the Kroger Technology team to continuously improve through intentional Lean and data driven inspect and adapt cycles (retrospectives)
- Protect the Kroger Technology team from uncontrolled injection of work, and ensure changes are evaluated/intentional
- Define and promote quality practices to ensure components, services and applications delivered by the Kroger Technology team meet performance expectations, allow for graceful degradation and are appropriately scalable (vertical or horizontal) for Kroger's expected growth pattern
- Escalate associate problems to the team lead/management
- Recommend improvements and assist in changes to best practices
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Minimum
- 2+ years of experience in an agile environment in other roles; such as quality assurance, development, product owner, or as an agile coach
- 2+ years of experience serving as an active scrum master
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
- Self motivated, creative and effective in empowering team members to propose solutions to complex problems
- Exceptional communication, organization and time management skills
- Ability to understand technical issues at a high level
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a very dynamic and time sensitive work environment
- Ability to build a high-performing team while managing interpersonal conflicts, challenges and opportunities for growth
- Ability to communicate/collaborate with associates at all levels of the organization and with diverse personality types
- Excellent team player and team builder
- Ability to coach/empower a team to reach their highest potential
Desired
- Bachelor's Degree a business or technology-related program
- 2+ years of experience in a software development organization
- Scrum Master certification
- Professional Scrum Master certification
