Summary: This position will manage and direct all Quality Assurance section activities pertaining to Customer, Plant, and Supplier Quality.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Set Quality Assurance Hoshin Kanri targets.
- Develop and revise Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
- Responsible for New Products Initial Control including SQAM submission to customers, process inspection set-up, pilot production correspondence and check problems, reliability test plan, supplier guidance process set-up, pilot production correspondence and check problems, reliability test plan, supplier guidance process, audit, and customer process investigation correspondence.
- Responsible for Customer and Supplier Defect Investigation, countermeasures, and reports.
- Responsible for In-Process Customer Defect Investigation and countermeasures.
- Responsible for High Volume Production Trial (HVPT) and SOP - Control first three months with special inspection.
- Implement inspection plan (I/S).
- Document and control product quality data and decide or not ship product.
- Maintain mass production quality and develop improvement plans.
- Confirm product change control (ECI process change.
- Monitor the customer field quality status (QPR / QIR).
- Maintain customer quality levels (relationships, quick response).
- Promote quality planning by mapping out company and targets (long term, short term).
- Develop Quality Assurance plan and evaluate the raw material.
- Promote and improve the measuring technique of total company (GR&R) and control the measuring tools and equipment (maintenance).
- Plan and manager fiscal budget.
- Achieve and maintain TS16949 registration within company determined time frame.
- Responsible for Internal Audit (self-audit) process and supporting formal audits.
- Preparation of Management review material monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Ensure product's compliance with Customer's requirements.
- Implement customer part approval process activity per AIAG guidelines.
- Perform other related tasks as required by the Supervisor or Management.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
- Knowledge of the Toyota Production System (TPS).
- High Level of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge and understanding of proper measurement techniques.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to speak and present to large groups.
- Ability to lead "white board" discussions to chart and better understand ATX processes.
- Ability to interact and work as a team within all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications, Education And Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. If equivalent work experience, must have High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a quality setting within a manufacturing environment. Automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory management experience required.
- Minimum 3 years of understanding TPS, GD&T, quality tools, and root cause analysis methods.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence.
- Proficiency in quality management software.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally with short notice.
