The Opportunity

CoinDesk Indices is seeking a Quantitative Analyst to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the daily management and operation of our digital asset indices. You'll play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our data, models, and processes. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytically-minded individual with a strong foundation in quantitative analysis and programming to make a direct impact in the rapidly evolving digital asset space.

This is a contractual role that will be required to work onsite from our NYC office located near Union Square.

What You’Ll Do

  • Model Management: Run and oversee validation models, as well as test and deploy updates to existing models.
  • Index Operations: Perform routine index reconstitutions and rebalances using Python and other tools.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to operational processes and controls.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for all operational processes and controls.
  • Client Support: Address and resolve client inquiries in a timely manner, and troubleshoot and escalate any issues as needed.
  • Index Development: Assist in the setup and testing of new indices and reference rates.
  • Collaboration: Work with engineering teams to define technical requirements and test new releases, and collaborate with other analysts to ensure tasks and coverage are complete.
  • Methodology Review: Review and update existing index methodologies to ensure they remain relevant and accurate.
  • Communications: Prepare and distribute regular index announcements.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a quantitative developer or in a similar quantitative role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Python and Excel.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Data Experience: Experience working with large datasets and time series data.
  • Financial Knowledge: Solid knowledge of mathematics, statistics, financial markets, and derivatives.
  • Bonus: Knowledge of APIs and streaming data is a plus.
