About This Opportunity:

The Finance Analyst (FA) provides support to the Lethbridge team. The FA is responsible for labour reporting and plays a key role in supporting initiatives. As a finance team member, the FA is integral in supporting overhead management, weekly and period end reporting and providing the right information to plant management for the best decisions to be made.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide labour analytics to assist in effective workforce management
  • Complete month end close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Create weekly and monthly vitals reports, reviewing for reasonableness, and communicating results to management
  • Track government assistance payments and submit to finance, if applicable  
  • Review overhead expenses for accuracy and comparison to plan and support management in identifying cost savings initiatives
  • Complete bi-weekly cost forecasts and work with overhead managers to compile budget proposals
  • Regulate packaging and maintenance cycle counts
  • Process direct post invoices including supplier processing follow-up as needed
  • Coordinate count activities with Maintenance
  • Perform quarterly C3 inventory control audits to ensure compliance to CP standards including preparing remediation plans with manager support where applicable
  • Manage indirect office supplies including mail room activities (courier, mail sorting) printing labels. 
  • Technical support as required. 

Skills & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in an Accounting program
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP or an ERP environment is an asset
  • The ability to work cross-functionally
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
