The Head of Design Consultancy will lead the architectural design function across all office locations, ensuring design excellence, operational consistency, and seamless delivery of large-scale healthcare projects. This role requires a balanced mix of creative vision, technical expertise, project leadership, and strong team management capabilities. You will oversee multidisciplinary coordination—including architecture, structural engineering, MEP, interiors, landscape, and civil teams—while ensuring high-quality outcomes, compliance with regulatory norms, and on-time project execution. The position is central to driving innovation, maintaining design standards, strengthening client relationships, and elevating the organization’s design practice at a national and international level.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Team Leadership
- Develop and implement design strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Create and maintain standard processes, documentation formats, and quality checks for all offices.
- Monitor key performance metrics related to productivity, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Lead and guide a team of architects, designers, and visualisation professionals across regions.
- Conduct regular design reviews and team coordination meetings.
Design & Innovation
- Oversee conceptual, schematic, and detailed design stages for major projects.
- Encourage innovation through sustainable design approaches, building technologies, and digital tools like BIM and parametric design.
Project Coordination
- Manage the full design delivery process from concept to construction drawings.
- Review designs to ensure compliance with local regulations, NBC codes, and other statutory requirements.
- Ensure projects are delivered within timelines and budgets.
Client Interaction & Business Support
- Participate in client meetings, design presentations, and project discussions.
- Support business development by contributing to proposals, project pitches, and resource planning.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and quality outputs.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Implement QA/QC processes for drawing sets and documentation.
- Conduct regular checks for regulatory compliance and accuracy.
- Ensure the effective use of tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM 360 for project coordination.
People Development
- Identify and develop talent within the architectural team.
- Organize training sessions on new tools, technologies, and design standards.
- Provide continuous feedback and mentoring to help team members grow.
What Makes You A Great Fit
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- 15–20 years of professional experience with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Registered Architect with the Council of Architecture (COA).
- Strong experience in handling healthcare projects and multidisciplinary design coordination.
- Proficiency in BIM, AutoCAD, Revit, and related tools.
- Ability to lead and manage multi-location design teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Good problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
