Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize current data ingestion workflows on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and design integrations for new data sources into the data lake.
• Design and develop scalable, efficient data pipelines and a robust data architecture.
• Develop, monitor, and maintain GCP infrastructure for data ingestion and processing, with a focus on performance, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Contribute to the improvement of DevOps processes for the data lake (e.g., Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, staging environments, deployment strategies, and access control).
• Work closely with the Head of BI and other stakeholders to support key data projects, including requirements gathering, solution design, and implementation.
• Ensure data security, governance, and compliance across systems, helping maintain the reliability and integrity of production environments.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather data requirements and deliver solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest data engineering technologies and best practices, and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Experience And Qualifications:

• 5–7+ years of proven experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Proficiency in SQL, BigQuery and a solid understanding of data modelling techniques.
• Familiarity with dbt for data transformation and modelling.
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines and managing workflows using orchestration tools such as Airflow (or similar).
• Familiarity with API integration and various data extraction methods.
• Understanding of data governance best practices around security, quality, and compliance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset.Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Nice To Have:

• Solid understanding of Google Cloud Platform services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer, and serverless deployments.
• Experience working within Agile methodologies.
• Exposure to machine learning workflows and collaboration with ML teams.
