Role Overview,

We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join the Accounting team within the Finance department, a team of 20 people. Working closely with the team, you will help ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement of accounting processes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment and enjoys contributing to a growing startup.

Main Responsibilities,

  • Share responsibility for ongoing accounting activities in preparation for month-end closing for all entities, with a focus on Spain. This includes posting transactions in the general and sub-ledgers, processing bank postings, performing account reconciliations, and managing fixed asset accounting.
  • Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports for consolidation purposes.
  • Prepare customer outgoing invoices and oversee the accounts receivable process, including dunning and customer communication.
  • Post incoming invoices and credit card statements to the relevant cost centers.
  • Prepare the weekly payment run.
  • Contribute to national and group audit processes.
  • Assist in preparing VAT advance returns and statutory statistical reports.
  • Ensure adherence to internal and external accounting and tax regulations.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of accounting workflows and processes, with a focus on collaboration and automation.

Main Requirements:

  • Completed commercial education or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent qualification.
  • 3–5 years of experience in accounting, including exposure to month-end or year-end closing tasks.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) is an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, reliability, and an independent, structured way of working.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment.
  • Openness to learning and contributing within a growing and evolving environment.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken). German skills are a plus.
