Job Overview

We are looking for a proactive and results-oriented Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead our growth efforts in the U.S. and Canada.

You Will Be

Own the end-to-end business development function (strategy to closure).

Generate and nurture leads, build strong relationships with business owners, CPA & Accounting firms and convert opportunities into long-term engagements.

Manage and mentor a team of Business Development Executives (BDEs) to consistently hit revenue and activity targets.

This is a key leadership role for someone who understands B2B sales in a services/outsourcing environment and can balance both hands-on selling and team management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to grow client base in the U.S. and Canada for accounting, bookkeeping, and related services.
  • Generate new leads through LinkedIn, email outreach, cold calling, partnerships, events, and other B2B channels.
  • Nurture leads through structured follow-ups, discovery calls, and relationship-building until they are ready to convert.
  • Understand client needs, business models, and pain points, and position Datastub’s solutions clearly and convincingly.
  • Manage and lead a team of BDEs:
  • Allocate and monitor leads.
  • Set daily/weekly activity and follow-up targets.
  • Coach team members on messaging, objection handling, and closing.
  • Own and manage the sales pipeline in the CRM (Zoho/HubSpot or similar):
  • Ensure all leads, activities, and opportunities are properly tracked and updated.
  • Maintain an accurate view of pipeline health and forecast.
  • Work closely with the CEO and senior management to Prepare tailored proposals, pricing, presentations, negotiate terms and close deals.
  • Track and report on key metrics (leads generated, conversion rates, meetings booked, proposals sent, revenue closed, etc.) and present regular updates to Management.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with existing clients to identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities and ensure satisfaction.
  • Stay up to date with the outsourcing/accounting industry, competitor offerings, and market trends to refine positioning and strategy.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B business development or sales, preferably in (Either):
  • Accounting / bookkeeping services
  • Outsourcing / offshoring
  • Professional services (CPA firms, consulting)
  • Proven track record of:
  • Generating and nurturing leads
  • Running a structured sales process
  • Closing recurring service-based deals
  • Experience managing or leading a small sales/business development team.
  • Excellent communication skills (spoken and written), with the ability to present to international clients confidently.
  • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent working skills with:
  • LinkedIn / LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Email outreach tools (e.g., Apollo, ZoomInfo, or similar)
  • CRM tools such as Zoho, HubSpot, or equivalent
  • Tech-savvy with a good understanding of CRM, lead management, sales automation, and reporting.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • High level of professionalism, ownership, and persistence in follow-ups and client communication.
