Summary/Objective

The Marketing Manager oversees the development and execution of marketing policies, programs, and campaigns. This role leads a team of marketing professionals to ensure effective promotion and brand consistency, with a particular emphasis on fostering a passion for Medora and the Badlands. The ideal candidate combines leadership skills with deep enthusiasm for the region, driving initiatives that enhance visibility and engagement. 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains department staff 
  • Manages daily departmental workflow. 
  • Conducts performance evaluations. 
  • Administers disciplinary actions and terminations in line with company policy. 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensure brand consistency across all regional marketing initiatives. 
  • Develop strategies for social media and marketing materials. 
  • Write content for the foundation website, intranet, and other marketing collateral. 
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director on departmental improvements. 
  • Partner with the sales team to create advertising strategies and promotional materials. 
  • Monitor campaign performance using analytics tools like Google Analytics and marketing automation platforms; prepare reports to measure effectiveness. 
  • Manage budgets for advertising and promotional activities. 
  • Support product management through video and other content creation. 
  • Collaborate with graphic designers to produce visual content using Adobe Creative Suite for digital and print media. 
  • Stay current on market trends and recommend new products or services. 
  • Develop and deliver training in marketing activities and policies. 
  • Coordinate promotional events and trade shows. 
  • Negotiate contracts for marketing services. 
  • Purchase media and manage ad deadlines, trade fulfillment and PR interview scheduling 
  • Train new marketing department members. 
  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • Skilled in Adobe Suite, Canva, and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Commitment and passion for Medora, The Badlands and helping people. 
  • Adaptability and creativity. 

Required Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related field; or equivalent in education and/or experience. 
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience. 
  • Experience with email campaigns, automation, audience segmentation, and retargeting. 
  • Technical SEO experience preferred. 
  • Interest or experience in outdoor activities and tourism.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., this position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.
