Job Summary:
Prairie Farms Dairy, Battle Creek operates as a dairy manufacturing plant and distribution center that covers the whole state of MI and some of the surrounding states. We make dairy products that are then distributed to retail outlets, warehouses, hospitals, correctional facilities, retirement homes, food service warehouses, schools and colleges throughout Michigan.
We are currently looking for a Receptionist to provide support to our office department. We are looking for a dynamic individual who can multitask, is analytical, and tech savvy. They will assist our department leaders focusing on customer service and employee needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office
- Previous experience with data entry
- Handling cash for customer transactions
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to prepare, compile, and sort documents for data entry
- Accurately file paperwork
High School Diploma or GED required
Hours: 7:00am – 3:00pm or 8:00am - 4:00pm
Monday – Friday
The Receptionist shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: data entry, multi-line phone use, customer service and employee relations. As such, this individual will need to be proficient with and enjoy detailed work.
Additional responsibilities will include greeting people in person and over the phone and as such, needs a good telephone voice and a pleasant disposition. It is imperative that he or she can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, as well as work well with numbers. There are multiple spreadsheets that get updated throughout the day and it is imperitive that those are handled with accuracy and confidentiality.
He or she will need to be a self-starter and able to work without direct supervision. Will be required to sit for long periods of time. Will be required to lift and move large amounts of paperwork (boxes of files). Will be required to stoop, bend, and reach above the head and below the knees to file and retrieve data, must be able to lift 25+ pounds.
Health, dental, and vision, available within 60 days of hire.
Vacation available to those who qualify after 90 days, vacation accrual begins on day 1 of hire. Up to 120 hours of PTO can be earned in year 1.
**Vacation is dependent on full time work, time of year employee is hired, etc.
