As a Construction Procurement Specialist with LotusWorks, you will play a key role in managing procurement activities for large-scale construction and commissioning projects within an advanced manufacturing facility. You will work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Commissioning Teams to ensure all equipment, documentation, and procurement deliverables are aligned with client specifications, timelines, and budget requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Delivery Managers (DMs), Project Managers (PMs), Construction Managers (CMs), and Commissioning teams to understand equipment and material needs.
  • Verify all backup documentation required for procurement approval.
  • Confirm client direction and authorization (Intel) prior to procurement.
  • Assess project risk logs and identify procurement-related items.
  • Coordinate commissioning and start-up procurement needs, including freight, delivery scheduling, and site logistics.
  • Participate in design and coordination meetings to understand project procurement needs.
  • Validate equipment specifications and data sheets; ensure alignment with design and performance requirements.
  • Identify acceptable manufacturers and confirm applicable specification sections.
  • Manage bid processes and Single Source Justifications (SSJ) as required.
  • Coordinate with vendors for pricing, lead times, and submittal documentation (CDEs).
  • Present cost and lead time analysis to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Review vendor CDEs with clients and HP representatives to ensure timely close-out.
  • Track submittal progress and ensure all submittals are received, reviewed, and approved on schedule.
  • Collaborate with the estimating team (e.g., Diego) to ensure Quickbase entries are current and accurate.
  • Conduct initial submittal reviews and provide technical feedback to the project team.
  • Facilitate communication between vendors, design engineers, and clients to support information flow and decision-making.
  • Review and coordinate impacts from owner notices (e.g., stop-work or hold notices).
  • Maintain a clear understanding of all project changes and their impact on procurement status.
  • Lead weekly procurement meetings with the client to report status, risks, and next steps.
  • Host coordination meetings with vendors as needed to track deliveries, submittals, and open items.
  • Provide schedule input related to material lead times, submittal cycles, and fabrication durations.

Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of construction procurement processes, equipment specifications, and submittal workflows.
  • Proven ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines (Design, Construction, Commissioning).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and procurement tracking tools such as Quickbase or SharePoint.
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical specifications and construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of bid processes, vendor qualification, and cost analysis.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor-management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic project environment and adapt to shifting priorities. 

Education / Licenses / Certifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related technical field preferred.Equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable
