Company Description

Axiado is an AI-enhanced security processor company redefining the control and management of every digital system. The company was founded in 2017, and currently has 150+ employees. At Axiado, developing great technology takes more than talent: it takes amazing people who understand collaboration, respect each other, and go the extra mile to achieve exceptional results. It takes people who have the passion and desire to disrupt the status quo, deliver innovation, and change the world. If you have this type of passion, we invite you to apply for this job.

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design, build, and deploy intelligent agents on our edge devices. These agents will operate autonomously in resource-constrained environments, performing complex tasks like real-time log analysis, on-device computer vision, and secure system-level interactions.

This role requires a unique blend of modern AI development (agentic workflows, LLMs) and classic systems-level domain knowledge. You will be responsible for creating agents that can perceive their environment (through logs, video, and system data), reason, and act securely and efficiently on our custom hardware.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy autonomous agentic systems for resource-constrained edge devices.
  • Implement agent capabilities that leverage deep domain knowledge, specifically in:
  • Real-time log analysis and anomaly detection.
  • Efficient, on-device computer vision (CV) model execution and interpretation.
  • Interaction with system-level open-sourced tools for data gathering and system monitoring.
  • Develop and integrate secure, high-performance communication channels for agent-to-agent (A2A) and management-to-controller (MCP) interactions.
  • Implement robust MCP authentication and secure communication protocols for all agent operations.
  • Optimize the full agent stack—from the ML model to the application logic—for high performance and low footprint (latency, memory, power) on our target hardware.
  • Collaborate with MLOps and firmware teams to create robust deployment and update pipelines for agents in the field.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering or machine learning.
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven experience building systems with LLMs and/or agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom-built agents).
  • Strong, demonstrable domain knowledge in log analysis and/or computer vision.
  • Experience with network protocol development or integration, with specific knowledge of MCP/A2A-like systems and authentication mechanisms.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with data-intensive applications.
  • Experience using and integrating open-source tools for system monitoring, log processing (e.g., ELK stack, Prometheus), or CV (e.g., OpenCV).

Preferred Qualifications (The "Plus" Factors)

  • Direct, hands-on experience with embedded system development (e.g., C, C++, Rust, Yocto, RTOS).
  • Experience optimizing ML models (quantization, pruning) for edge devices (e.g., NPUs, FPGAs, or other accelerators).
  • Deep understanding of network security and secure coding practices.
  • Knowledge of ML compilers like Apache TVM or MLIR
