Job Summary
This role is for a Technical Project Manager who applies expertise in software development methodologies, modern systems architecture, and the AI/ML lifecycle to drive complex product and technology solutions. The incumbent is the primary link between Product Strategy and Engineering Execution, focusing on managing technical delivery risk, Project planning, resolving cross team architectural/infrastructure dependencies, and ensuring the timely delivery of the solution. This requires leveraging a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure on-time, high-quality, and high-value delivery for our customers. This is NOT an engineering manager role.
Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as a project leader for the definition, planning, and delivery of multiple large-scale product and technology projects, working with the executive sponsor (Director or higher) and other management as required to ensure achievement of the defined project goals. Receive high risk, visible efforts, must take a lead role in the successful delivery and implementation of cross-functional activities to achieve the desired results for a defined program and/or strategic initiative.
- Drive the day-to-day operation of projects (including budgetary oversight and staffing) ensuring that all projects are reliably delivered on time, on budget and with a consistently high standard of quality.
- Collaborate with all project stakeholders to proactively identify and mitigate project risks with frequent reevaluation and reprioritization of the risk register. Determine communication strategies and execute those to provide accurate and timely project information. Efficiently summarize and present complex ideas and/or data into a format that can be understood by all levels of the organization.
- Cultivate a customer-first attitude by forging relationships with stakeholders to better understand their needs and goals, and seek to discern what the customer impact will be for each project decision and/or action taken.

- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Management Information Science or closely related field

Experience
Required
- 5 years in Project Management
- 5 years delivering business solutions using information technology
Preferred
- Past hands-on experience in a development role (Software Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar), or managing teams with direct exposure to code and system design.
- Ability to manager projects utilizing AI and specific cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, etc)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including experience with conflict resolution.
- Ability to pull together a group of people with diverse skills and make a functional team
- Technical literacy in system architecture; must be able to read and discuss system design documents, sequence diagrams, and API specifications.
- Proficiency in communicating and prioritizing non-functional requirements, such as performance, scalability, and security, alongside functional requirements.
- Proven ability to proactively identify, mitigate, and efficiently resolve complex cross-team dependencies and architectural bottlenecks while balancing trade-offs between scope, technical debt, and delivery schedules.

Pay Range Minimum:
$78,900.00Pay Range Maximum:
$147,500.00Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
