Data Scientist, Smart Cable Guard

The purpose of the role as a SCG Data Scientist is to understand and translate business needs into reality using the available data.

The ideal candidate will have mathematical and statistical expertise alongside a healthy dose of curiosity. While mining, interpreting, and cleaning our data, this person will be relied on to ask questions, connect the dots, and uncover hidden opportunities for realizing the data’s full potential. Furthermore, a creative mind is required to develop and implement (machine learning) algorithms to create the product of the future. 

General:

• Collaborate with technical experts to develop an understanding of the business needs
• Research and devise innovative statistical models for data analysis
• Implement analytical models in production by collaborating with software developers, technical experts and data analyst
• Communicate findings to all involved stakeholders
• Keep up to date with current with technical and industry developments
• Support business decisions with relevant and useful data analysis
• Provide suggestions for improvements of the measurement system and algorithms

Education:

Academic Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar.

Key Skills Required:

• Ability to work individually as well as in a team.
• Understanding of the technical consequences of a business decision as well as the business consequences of a technical decision.
• Strong English language skills, verbal and in writing,
• Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis
• Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, and programming languages (ex: Python)
• Experience with data science packages such as Keras,Tensorflow and Python-pandas
