Optimiza is in search of a Database Administrator with a specialization in PostgreSQL to enhance our database management team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing, optimizing, and securing PostgreSQL databases. Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Tune PostgreSQL database performance, manage storage allocations, and optimize queries.
• Implement data backups and recovery procedures, guaranteeing data integrity and availability.
• Develop database documentation, including architecture diagrams, processes, and best practices.
• Collaborate with application teams to ensure efficient database access and integration with software applications.
• Monitor database health and performance metrics to provide timely troubleshooting and enhancements.
• Ensure database security best practices are enforced and conduct regular security audits.
• Stay abreast of PostgreSQL advancements and industry best practices, proposing relevant upgrades and modifications.
• Mentor junior database administrators, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on PostgreSQL.
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, including indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Proficient in SQL and PL/pgSQL for advanced querying and stored procedures.
• Experience with PostgreSQL replication, backup, and recovery strategies.
• Familiarity with cloud-hosted PostgreSQL databases and related tools (e.g., AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex database-related issues.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
• PostgreSQL certifications or related credentials are a plus.
