In This Role, You'Ll:
Join the Roads Maintenance & Resilience Branch on a permanent full time basis as the Senior Manager Resilience Design and help shape the future of resilient transport infrastructure by embedding best-practice design standards, policies, and frameworks that enable our road network to withstand and recover from bushfires, natural disasters, and the impacts of a changing climate.
Lead the integration of resilience principles and best-practice design standards across the full asset lifecycle from feasibility to construction and maintenance and overall ensuring alignment with Austroads guidelines and TfNSW strategic priorities.
Develop, implement, and maintain policy, standards, and technical frameworks that embed resilience and deliver resilience plans across infrastructure planning and delivery programs.
Act as the principal liaison and subject matter expert with various branches across Transport (SPER, PIP, SEM), and other government and industry partners to drive consistent and coordinated approaches to resilience and disaster preparedness.
Provide expert advice and strategic guidance on resilience policy, investment prioritisation, and infrastructure design to strengthen the network’s capacity to withstand and recover from natural disasters such as bushfires and floods.
Foster cross-agency collaboration and knowledge sharing, supporting integration of resilience thinking across modes and building partnerships with local councils, emergency services, and industry.
Lead, mentor, and develop a small technical team to build organisational capability in resilience design, policy implementation, and asset management excellence.
Please note, while the role is based at Milsons Point in Sydney, we welcome applications from candidates located across the state. The successful applicant would work in a hybrid capacity, splitting their time between their nearest office and home.

A strategic and systems thinker with expertise in resilience design, and infrastructure across transport networks.
Recognised as a thought leader and influencer who is skilled at bringing together technical, policy, and operational stakeholders across state and local government.
Highly collaborative communicator able to represent TfNSW in interagency forums and effectively advocate for resilience priorities.
Analytical and evidence-driven professional experienced in risk assessments, and scenario-based planning to inform investment and design decisions.
A people leader who mentors others, promotes continuous improvement, and embeds resilience and sustainability as core organisational principles.
