Key skills and prior experience that align well with this position

  • A minimum of a third level degree in Maths, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Experience leading and motivating teams, that ensures best outcomes along with ability to work effectively within an inclusive team to achieve common goals 
  • Experience leading and delivering data related projects 
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders, providing quality advice based on extensive knowledge and leading industry practices 
  • Familiar with best practice project management methods, tools and techniques 
  • Commercial experience in an information/data management role 
  • Good to have experience of implementing enterprise grade data architecture on technologies like Cloudera CDP, Databricks and Cloud native environments (Azure/AWS/GCP)


Success in the Role: Performance Outcomes in your first 6-12 months

  • Scope, design, and lead the implementation of effective data solutions and models aligned with client needs and industry standards.
  • Develop technical specifications and architecture designs for scalable, secure, and enterprise-grade data storage and management.
  • Lead and mentor data analysts and engineers, ensuring solutions align with the target architecture and deliver business value.
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships, establishing trust and identifying opportunities for further collaboration. 

What type of work will I be doing?

  • Designing data models, ETL, and CI/CD processes using the latest open-source and proprietary technologies.
  • Leading client engagements across various industries, advising on data strategy and architecture.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Technology, Transformation, and other Business Units to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Coaching and mentoring junior team members to support their development and align responsibilities with learning objectives.

You will report to the Artificial Intelligence & Data Team Lead, a seasoned expert in data architecture and AI solutions. They are known for their collaborative leadership style, valuing innovation, inclusivity, and professional development. Their approach encourages open communication and empowers team members to take ownership and deliver impactful results.
 

Where is this role based?
