Job Duties

The Senior Budget Analyst provides technical support in the development, execution, and monitoring of the Direct Aid to Public Education, CSA, and Central Office budgets, as well as various services and information to internal and external audiences in support of agency operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of state and federal accounts in Direct Aid to Public Education and Central Office budgets.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply calculations for entitlements.
  • Knowledge of state and federal law and regulations governing education programs.
  • Ability to perform analysis of account balances and monitor program expenditures vs. appropriations.
  • Ability to compile and reconcile monthly budgets for various programs.
  • Knowledge of and ability to execute state-level budgetary processes.
  • Knowledge of Internal budget and accounting systems and ability to use data from such systems.
  • Working knowledge and skill-set in desktop and Internet computer applications and ability to apply such applications in the budget setting.
  • Ability to use oral and written communication to convey information to diverse audiences, ability to work independently, and ability to apply analytical skills in the budget setting.

Additional Considerations

  • A bachelor's degree with studies in a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in education budgeting or related field is required.
