Description
- The primary purpose of this role is to build and operate infrastructure capabilities that support business application services for the Lancashire Group companies world-wide.
- Lead and mentor cloud and infrastructure teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment to deliver robust IT solutions.
- Support the IT Infrastructure Manager in managing relationships with key 3rd party vendors and managed service providers (MSPs), ensuring alignment with business objectives and contractual obligations.
- Drive continuous improvement in service delivery by working closely with both internal teams and external partners.
Specific Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with managed service providers (MSPs) to ensure service delivery aligns with business objectives and contractual obligations.
- Oversee and coordinate activities with 3rd party vendors, ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and timely resolution of issues.
- Liaise with 3rd party vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
- Build, manage and maintain reliable, secure, and cost-efficient IT infrastructure across supported environments.
- Vulnerability management of infrastructure components and operating systems.
- Responsible for the provisioning, deployment, configuration, maintenance, and administration of hardware and software.
- Responsible for quarterly vulnerability assessment testing and annual penetration testing, lead remediation and actions/project.
- Work closely with architecture teams to identify and define management and monitoring regimes to ensure delivered capabilities operate effectively.
- Proactively identify and manage risk via the formal Risk Management processes.
- Maintain effective Asset Management and license compliance as required.
- Ensure all services are appropriately documented.
- Plays a key role in operational Data Centre and Cloud projects to ensure they are planned, resourced and delivered to meet corporate objectives.
- Maximise performance by monitoring, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
- Reviewing system changes for security implications and recommending improvements.
- Evaluate, select, and onboard new MSPs and 3rd party partners as required, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and security requirements.
Specific Skills & Experience
- Strong technical knowledge of hybrid cloud infrastructure technologies such as Azure & vSphere.
- Hands-on experience and knowledge implementing, configuring, integrating Microsoft based technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentational skills, confident and methodical approach, and able to work within a team environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing MSPs and 3rd party vendors in an enterprise IT environment.
- Ability to take a structured approach to problem resolution and ensure that the most appropriate actions are taken to resolve problems as they occur.

- Proven experience in designing and architecting enterprise IT infrastructure solutions, both on-premises and in the cloud.
- Ability to build effective partnerships with external service providers to deliver high-quality infrastructure and cloud services.
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and enforcing SLAs and operational agreements with MSPs and 3rd parties.
