Plant Manager (Full Time) - St-Hubert, QC

The Plant Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the St-Hubert Packaged Gas Plant, including production scheduling, manpower planning, maintenance scheduling, safety and regulatory compliance as well as distribution of products to internal and external customers.

Major Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the production process including:
  • Filling cylinders & liquid containers, production scheduling, maintenance scheduling, and manpower planning to ensure the plant is operating under an effective and economic environment
  • Execute internal distribution to various branches in Quebec and other provinces
  • Select, train, develop and motivate staff to maintain plant operation and build team spirit
  • Ensure compliance of all plant operations with company safety policy and government regulations
  • Control annual budget and expense of the plant location, including distribution and production costs
  • Establish and maintain a leadership role in safety.
  • Encourage safety teamwork and an ongoing high level of safety awareness.
  • Create an environment, which encourages safe operating practices and fosters “Operational Discipline” as an everyday behaviour.
  • Promote a clean, safe work environment and an atmosphere of teamwork and open communication to motivate, build morale and develop a positive attitude among employees.
  • Manage the internal and external distribution fleet of trucks and trailers for transporting cylinders.
  • Maintain service excellence by achieving an On Time Delivery rate of 90% or higher.
  • Develop and maintain an open line of communication with the sales team and other plants to meet customer expectations. 
 

Qualifications

 

Qualifications - Education and Professional experience: 

  • Bachelor Degree [engineering, business or chemistry] or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ industry or manufacturing experience in a supervisory or management capacity
  • Strong people leader
  • Business acumen, strong customer focus, high decision quality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, build and foster teamwork, strong attention to detail, good oral and written communication.
  • Work independently to accomplish objectives within deadlines. 
  • Willing to travel as required for training and meetings
