We have a role available for a Procurement Specialist to support our new Defence division. About The Role

You will support the Head of Direct Procurement in managing procurement activities for a complex state-wide Defence contract spanning multiple bases. You will ensure efficient and compliant procurement of goods and services, managing price books and contract administration, overseeing contract governance and sourcing activities, and fostering innovation and value creation through subcontractor engagement.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Conducting comprehensive procurement activities, including market research, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation.
  • Developing, managing, and evaluating tenders for contractor engagement, ensuring transparency and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Preparing, issuing & responding to Contract Notices and Variations. Price book management.
  • Overseeing the contractor onboarding process, ensuring all necessary documentation and compliance requirements are met.
  • Maintaining up-to-date records of all procurement activities and contracts.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ascertain procurement needs and develop specifications.
  • Monitoring contractor performance and managing contract amendments as required.
  • Providing regular reports on procurement activities and contractor performance to the Industry Engagement Manager.
  • Ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and seeking cost-saving opportunities.
  • Managing relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Staying informed about market trends and changes in the procurement landscape.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives within the performance reporting function.

About You

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within the defence or multi-site facilities maintenance sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement and contract management within complex organisational environments.
  • Strong organisational skills with experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience maintaining and governing price books, ensuring pricing accuracy, audit readiness, and alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Experience with tender development and management.
  • Understanding of procurement policies, procedures, and compliance requirements, ideally within a public sector or large corporate setting.
  • Proven track record of successful contractor management and onboarding.
  • Demonstrated understanding of procurement laws and regulatory frameworks to ensure compliance across state-wide contracts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field is highly desirable unless you have demonstrated equivalent experience.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
