An exciting opportunity to lead the Software Services team at the University of Edinburgh. This is a Grade 8, full-time (35 hours per week), open-ended (permanent) position based in central Edinburgh.  The role is hybrid, you will report to the Head Desktop Services and will be on campus a minimum of one day per week.

What The Job Involves:

  • Responsible for management of licensing contracts for major software publishers, including Microsoft and Adobe
  • Negotiating and administering contracts and working in large, complex multi-stakeholder enterprise environments. 
  • Identifying opportunities to optimise software licensing and save money.
  • Work closely with procurement colleagues to support optimisation of new software licensing purchases, contracts and renewals.
  • Liaising with internal customers in University Schools and Colleges, providing information and support on purchasing, renewing and maintaining licenses and compliance with licensing laws and regulations.
  • Leading the Software Services team in the delivery and continual improvement of quality services, in line with Information Services strategic goals including an exciting opportunity to be the key driver behind a new ITAM service at the University.

A Bit About You:

  • Substantial relevant experience of software asset management in a large organisation.
  • Proven ability to influence change and to lead, manage, and motivate others.
  • Experience of planning and establishing effective processes for software purchasing and asset management.
  • Experience of working with senior decision makers and decision-making processes.
  • Evidence of excellent organisational skills, written and oral communication skills, and inter-personal relationship development.

The role is suited for individuals from varied backgrounds and any related field where technical depth is not mandatory.
