Job Summary
Supports the Company's Risk Management function by working with the Director of Financial Risk Management to formalize and mature the second line of defense Capital Planning & Positions and Liquidity risk management program, including Resolution & Recovery Plan Oversight. Ensures the program has effective governance and planning processes to determine an adequate level of capital and liquidity to cover risks and exposures to support activities through a range of conditions and events; and has sufficient capital and liquidity to meet regulatory requirements and continue operating through a range of conditions. Develops and maintains effective relationships with key stakeholders within the lines of business, including Treasury and other second line risk functions, such as Enterprise Risk Management. Performs an annual independent review of the Capital Planning & Positions and Liquidity Risk Management processes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide oversight, review, and challenge of the liquidity risk management and end-to-end capital planning process including spot regulatory capital calculations and capital related interpretations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Provides credible challenge over the following areas of Capital Planning: Governance; Risk Identification and Assessment Process, Risk Measurement, and Materiality; Capital Policy; Incorporation of Stressful Conditions and Events in Scenario Design and Narratives; Estimating the Impact on Capital Positions from Loss Estimation, PPNR, and aggregation of estimation results.
- Provides credible challenge over the following areas of Liquidity Risk Management: Governance; Liquidity Stress Testing & Liquid Asset Buffer, Collateral Management, Cash Flow Projections, Contingency Funding Plan, FX, Funds Transfer Pricing, and 2052a interpretation.
- Monitors market conditions and trends to identify potential risks and opportunities that may impact the organization's financial stability. Stays informed about industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in Liquidity and Capital Planning & Positions to drive continuous improvement.
- Prepares reports and presentations to communicate independent review, findings, and recommendations to key stakeholders and senior management.
- Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.

QualificationsMinimum Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum Experience:
- 8+ years experience in Liquidity Risk Management and Capital Planning & Positions (in the 1st or 2nd line of defense) in the financial services industry.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to Capital Planning & Positions.
- Ability to think strategically, demonstrating thought leadership while being capable of translating concepts into effective processes within acceptable timeframes and budgets.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey risk assessments and recommendations as well as deliver insights in a concise and digestible format.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
