Job Summary: Vision House is seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager to join our collaborative, mission-driven team. The Marketing and Communications Manager plays a key role in sharing Vision House’s story, growing community awareness, and inspiring donor engagement through thoughtful, strategic marketing and communications initiatives.

This person will take ownership of a variety of marketing and communications projects -developing campaigns, managing digital and traditional channels, and creating content that connects audiences to our mission. They ensure strategic and compelling messages are presented to the public, support and promote fundraising activities, and manage marketing and communications projects from concept to completion keeping timelines on track and collaboration strong across teams. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, and they are ready to jump in and support any project at a moment’s notice embodying the creative, flexible, and collaborative spirit of the marketing team.

This role works closely with the fundraising team, blending expertise in print and digital communications with a strong focus on developing and managing content to acquire new donors. The Marketing and Communications Manager collaborates across departments to align messaging, strengthen engagement, and actively contribute to advancing organizational goals and initiatives.

REPORTS TO:     Director of Marketing

HOURS:               40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, based on fundraising and donor needs, some weekend and evenings required

LOCATION:        Office is in Renton, WA

As a Marketing and Communications Manager, you will:

  • Manage project and campaign timelines from conception through execution, using a project management system, ensuring proactive coordination across all marketing and communications efforts
  • Coordinate project details among team members, leadership, and other stakeholders
  • Oversee content calendars to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms
  • Coordinate strategies across channels and events to align with the annual marketing calendar
  • Compile stories, collects images, writes and edits copy for print collateral (brochures, flyers, programs, annual reports, press releases)
  • Create, curate, and engage with content across social media platforms to build community and strengthen audience connection
  • Maintain the organization’s brand assets, including imagery and story libraries
  • Manage the organization’s website, including content creation and updates, landing pages, seasonal features, and SEO and Google AdWords efforts
  • Manage video and photo production for blog, email, and social media content
  • Execute multi-channel campaigns across digital, print, and social platforms
  • Support the internal marketing needs of the organization
  • Ensure a high level of professionalism and responsiveness in serving internal and external partners
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Marketing and Communications Manager candidates should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in nonprofit communications or marketing (preferred)
  • Record of success in developing and executing effective acquisition and retention strategies
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; able to write in Vision House’s voice and brand style
  • Strong project management skills, from inception through execution
  • Exceptional organizational and proofreading skills, with a great deal of attention to detail
  • Experience creating external and internal communications materials (press releases, collateral, articles, flyers, donor appeals)
  • Ability to coordinate with internal teams and external partners to produce print and digital marketing campaigns 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365, Canva, WordPress, and Asana or equivalent platforms
  • Working knowledge of donor databases and CRM systems
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms
  • Experience with video and photography production and editing a plus
  • Self-starter with a hands-on, energetic approach and a growth-minded attitude
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a flexible approach to a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates grace under pressure and strong team collaboration skills
  • Excited to contribute to the growth of the marketing and communications functions
  • Brings a strong work ethic, demonstrating diligence, reliability, and commitment to excellence
  • Ability to work occasional Saturdays and/or evenings
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Vision House, including serving with compassion and integrity in a Christ-centered environment
  • Must be an active follower of Jesus Christ and have the ability to sign our Statement of Faith

Physical Demands/Work Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
