We are looking for a bilingual English and German-speaking Finance Intern (f/m/d) to join our team here in Berlin for 6 months and eventually grow into a Junior Finance Officer, on a permanent basis. You’ll play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, analysing financial data, and ensuring the overall financial health of the company.
Our Finance team consists of 4 professionals, all reporting into the VP Finance, and each coming from a different country. Our company language is English, but within the team we speak both English and German. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, coachable, highly organised, bilingual, and possess a basic understanding of financial principles.
Working model: Hybrid (3 days in-office)
How You Will Spend Your Time:
- Accounts Payable tasks: master the Moss platform and associated invoices, manage our AP email address and answer supplier queries
- Provide support to other team members for Month’s End Close and Year’s End Close
- Manage company travel expenses by checking invoices for accuracy
- User payout processes: assist in generating the daily SEPA files for user payouts and work closely with our customer support team to provide confirmations or assist with manual SEPA functions
- Provide support to other areas of Finance: we aim to have each Finance team member able to support each other in in case of holidays, sickness or workload
What You Should Bring To The Table:
- A genuine interest in developing a career in Finance, and excitement about the prospect of developing from an intern into a Junior Finance Officer after 6 months.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, a related field, or equivalent professional experience (but we would also gladly welcome Quereinsteiger / career changers from other fields who have relevant numerical literacy skills)
- Effective communication skills in English and in German (C1 minimum), with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and Google Sheets
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards
- Knowledge of Workday, Datev, Moss, or EasyBill
How will I know if I’m successful in my role?
After 3 months:
- You will have mastered the Moss platform: You know where to get answers if you don’t know something, who the stakeholders are and what they need
- You will have mastered user payouts and the system around it
After 6 months:
- Everything from Month 3, plus:
- You should know everyone in the Finance team, what each other person does, and how you fit into the bigger picture
- You are familiar with EasyBill
- You are familiar with Accounts Receivable tasks
- You are familiar with Procurement and Tax Credit activities
- You demonstrate team fit through a positive can-do attitude, a genuine willingness to grow into a junior, and your initiatives for process improvement
Interview Process
- First call with a recruiter (30 - 40 mins)
- On-site interview with your lead (VP Finance) and one team member (60 mins), which will include a small live assessment

Please note: our offices close over the Christmas and New Year period for approximately two weeks. We gift the 24th and 31st December as extra vacation days and any additional non-public holiday days during this time will be taken from your annual leave.
