In This Role
In this role, you will lead non-technical, operations-focused projects within a data center environment. Your main job is to make sure work gets done on time, requirements are tracked, and stakeholders stay informed. You will build and execute project plans, drive task completion, manage risks and dependencies, and report status to leadership. This is a very task-oriented, self-driven role — you will be expected to work independently, prioritize well, and keep projects moving without a lot of technical input from engineers.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and execute non-technical data center operations projects from initiation through completion.
- Build detailed project schedules and workbacks using Microsoft Project and other Microsoft tools.
- Track deliverables, dependencies, and milestones; ensure teams stay on schedule.
- Coordinate across cross-functional/technical teams to align timelines, inputs, and ownership even if the work itself is non-technical.
- Prepare and present project updates, proposals, reports, and findings to project and leadership stakeholders.
- Identify risks and issues, propose mitigation plans, and monitor them through closure.
- Assess resource needs and project feasibility based on scope, timing, and dependencies.
- Review and, where appropriate, recommend or approve contracts, cost estimates, and related project documents.
- Direct, review, and approve project deliverables to ensure they meet defined requirements.
- Consult and negotiate with stakeholders to unblock work and achieve project milestones.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and compliance artifacts.
- Work independently in a remote/distributed environment while meeting 9–5 PT core hours.
- 8–10 years of project management experience, preferably in operations, infrastructure, or data-center-adjacent environments.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project (not just basic familiarity).
- Strong skills in Microsoft tools: Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint/OneDrive, and Visio.
