Job Summary
As Territory Manager, you’ll cover the territory in a designated and assigned area, targeting single family and multifamily Plumbers. Reporting to the Sr. National Account Manager, you'll drive sales of one of our premier brands by creating demand and utilizing our pull thru strategy. Taking ownership of an existing book of business, it will be your mission to retain and grow your established plumber accounts as well as develop and close new business. Initially, you will focus the majority of your time on existing customers, building credibility, trust, and strong relationships. As those relationships develop and stabilize, you’ll be pursuing new plumber accounts, increasing our market share, and building a lucrative career.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- (20%) Assume management of established plumber accounts.
- (30%) Maintain and grow market share through plumbers who already use our products and convert new plumbers who use competitors’ products.
- (15%) Develop a territory strategy focused on the largest opportunities to gain share while keeping a keen focus on existing business.
- (15%) Develop and execute market specific strategies in order to expand the depth and breadth of offerings within key accounts.
- (10%) Take a consultative approach, listen, and understand the needs of clients and prospects, and deliver well-formulated proposals that align our product features and benefits with their requirements.
- (10%) Give strong and stimulating presentations with a customer-specific focus that inspires action and commitment.
Education and Experience Profile
- 5 years of successful sales experience, ideally in the construction industry.
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience calling on wholesale distributors, builders, showrooms, architects or similar.
Required Skills
- A strong work ethic, hunter mentality, passion for sales, and the drive to get out in the field and pursue new business daily.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to use a consultative sales approach.
- A customer-centric orientation and excellent relationship building skills.
- Superb interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- A positive, energetic attitude.
- Initiative, drive, and out-of-the box thinking.
Preferred But Not Required:
- Experience with a wholesale distribution sales model.
- Experience and proficiency with Salesforce.com, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- P&L management experience.
- In addition to these skills, you must be willing and able to travel at least 35% - 45%of the time.
Work Environment:
- This position will operate out of your home office and spend the majority of your time (4-5 days a week) out in the field.
- 4-5 times per year you will be required to attend events outside of your territory (air travel).
