Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Business Systems Analyst on a temporary basis (up to 2 years) on our Technology team. This position is a remote opportunity and can be based anywhere across Western Canada with a preference being for candidates located in Saskatoon, SK

In this role, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders from every line of business to analyze complex applications and processes and help define a fully integrated future state aligned with our strategic vision. You’ll use your analytical expertise and business insight to gather requirements, build compelling business cases, and drive meaningful change. What You’Ll Do:

  • Elicit and analyze business requirements using interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, and workflow analysis.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using value stream mapping, Lean, Six Sigma, or other optimization methodologies to identify inefficiencies, eliminate waste, and streamline workflows across the organization
  • Perform comprehensive gap analysis between current state and desired future state, documenting findings, root causes, and actionable recommendations
  • Develop documentation including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements, interface designs, and data flow diagrams.
  • Apply business analysis techniques such as wireframes, mock-ups, user stories, use case analysis, and data modeling to define current and future states.
  • Evaluate and synthesize information from multiple sources to identify true business needs and resolve conflicting inputs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support RFI/RFP processes and formulate IT intake requests aligned with organizational goals.

The Team: You will work closely with a project manager, and will report into the Senior Manager, IT Business Relations. This team strives to cultivate a culture that is cross-functional, detail-oriented, and adaptive. 

The Collaborators: You will work closely with other functions in our Technology business unit and can collaborate across the organization depending on the project you are assigned to.

  • Who you are:
  • You are looking for a career in Information Technology and:
  • Have 3-6 years of Business Analyst experience with proven expertise in value stream mapping, gap analysis, and process improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or business with a focus in Business Analysis, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Have CCBA, CBAP, or similar business analysis certification OR actively pursuing certification.
  • Have expertise in business requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder management.
  • Are proficient with process modeling and business analysis tools
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
