Position Description
Performs project management work for district construction projects. Work includes oversight of construction projects and record keeping, construction engineering inspection (CEI), and in house inspections for construction and maintenance projects in a district area office. Work requires extensive contact with department staff, governmental agencies, and private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.
Essential Duties:
- Serves as a project lead by managing interim projects; distributing project-related work assignments; and evaluating project team members for the duration of the project
- Oversees construction of multiple projects in a district area office.
- Oversees and schedules construction engineering inspection (CEI) and in-house inspections for assigned projects in a district area office.
- Oversees and manages all project records for an area office to include, project change orders, statement of costs (SOC), closeouts, and assigning projects to staff.
- Reviews change orders prior to execution and assists with coordination between contractors, district construction office, and area engineer staff.
- Acts as the liaison between consultants and the district to address project issues.
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
Experience:
4 years Project management or development, construction/engineering support, or related experience (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent) -Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis OR related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Licenses And Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

- Exercise logic and reasoning to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; makes decisions that support business objectives and goals
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions:
- Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
- Standing-prolonged periods of time
- Fingering-picking, pinching, typing; working primarily with fingers rather that whole hand
- Talking-expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken words
- Hearing-perceive sound at normal speaking levels; receive information by oral communication
- Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
