You as a Refrigeration/HVAC Technician will:
- Be responsible for reactive and preventative maintenance on the Refrigeration/HVAC (HVACR) systems
- Coordinates with assigned foreman and/or other trades for the purpose of completing work orders efficiently.
- Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs.
- Inform personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
- Inspect HVACR systems and their components (e.g. heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, refrigeration plants, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive or corrective maintenance.
- Install heating and air conditioning equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities.
- Prepare written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
- Repair heating and air conditioning systems and/or components (e.g. pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a comfortable work environment.
- Request equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
- Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Operate a handheld device and maintenance software for performing and recording work requests
- Comply with, and provides input to, the Health & Safety program
- Comply with the Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct policies
- Participate in rotating on-call periods, such as responding to emergencies, handling after-hours issues, or covering shifts.
Is this the right role for you?
- You have 3-5 years relevant experience in refrigeration/air conditioning maintenance
- You have a Journeyman Refrigeration Certificate, licensed in accordance HRAI
- Valid Arena Level 2 Operator Certificate
- Strong computer skills for diagnosis and reference
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and detail oriented and problem solving skills
- Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
- Ability to work well with others & independently.
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Must possess a Class 5 driver’s license
- You have Reliability Clearance or are eligible to obtain it
- Position is located in Cold Lake, AB
