Job Description:
What we are seeking (Attributes, Skills and Qualifications – required & preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent with 7+ years of professional experience, ideally gained within a financial services industry environment
Thought leadership and ability to influence teams/leadership whilst championing operational improvement initiatives.
Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure, filtering noise to identify issue root cause, and confidently lead others thorough complex change.
Highly advantageous for the candidate to possess some background in AWS core services, network connectivity, cyber security practices, Linux, scripting, monitoring tools, 3rd party IDP integration, vendor managed services, application stacks and familiarity with Site Reliability & Engineering (SRE) and ITIL frameworks.
Understanding of development methodologies including Scrum, Agile, Kanban and test-driven development and toolsets (Jira, Confluence) and interfacing with Product Development, Architecture and Engineering teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Has helped to develop documentation of technical processes, workflows, processes, procedures, metrics reporting/dashboards and run books.
Proven ability to strategically analyse the risks, benefits, and opportunities associated with a solution.
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
Consistent professional and prompt communication
Ability to recognize technical/resource risks and recommend mitigation approaches.
Excellent inter-personal skills and comfortable establishing professional relationships especially remotely (electronic, phone, written)
Excellent troubleshooting skills and analytical problem-solving skills
Creativity and passion to analyse and solve complex problems.
