As an AI Engineer II you will work in an exciting and fast-paced environment on a product team to ship products globally, collaborating closely across engineering, product management, design, and applied science to deliver experiences to production. Responsibilities
- Ship features in collaboration with Product Management, Design, Applied Science and Engineering. Co‑own scenario goals; translate product requirements into engineering work and solutions that meet quality, latency, and cost targets.
- Collaborate with experienced engineers and scientists to design, prototype, and deliver AI-powered solutions that make Office apps smarter and more intuitive.
- Partner with product managers, designers, applied scientists, and other engineers in a fast-paced environment where your contributions matter.
- Prompting and evaluation of LLMs to deliver on customer scenarios. Leverage AI tools to improve engineering development and processes.
- Debug and investigate customer feedback and production usage and fundamentals of features developed.
- Collaborate across engineering for code reviewing pull requests, reviewing design documents and techniques.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to Typescript, Python, C++, C# or Java
- OR equivalent experience.

- 2+ years of experience coding in Typescript, Python, C++, C#, or Java.
- 1+ years of experience building products that use frontier models, such as prompting, evaluating or fine-tuning.
- 1+ years of experience in any of the following: machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and/or statistics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to Typescript, Python, C++, C# or Java OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to Typescript, Python, C++, C# or Java

- 2+ years of experience developing and deploying live production systems as part of a product team.
- Experience collaborating on hybrid or distributed teams across two or more time zones, using both synchronous (live meetings/voice/video) and asynchronous (documents/email/chat/task systems) communication to deliver a shared objective.
- Experience developing task specific metrics and evaluation datasets.
- Experience delivering changes informed by customer signals (such as research insights, usage/adoption, support tickets) that improve customer‐facing Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- 1+ year(s) of experience with applied science.
