About The Role:

About This Role
Integrity experts in the Integrity Assurance & Case Resolution team within Publishing Solutions & Performance manage ethical cases escalated to them for resolution; cases can originate from any number of places—including an alert from external stakeholders such as whistle-blower, reader, reviewer, editor, author, or as a result of a screen (e.g., image screen or similar). Cases may be related to articles at any stage of the publication process, from submission through publication, or pertain to work that is already published. Multiple journals and/or articles, and authors/editors/reviewers may be involved. In all cases, Wiley’s own ethical best practice guidelines are followed as are those of the Committee for Publishing Ethics (COPE); in complex cases, consultation with COPE may be sought.
- How you will make an impact:
- Lead the peer-to-peer training and instruction of less experienced colleagues;
- Create instructional resources and training materials for entry level colleagues and continuous training of established colleagues
- Evaluate/triage Integrity tickets/cases (received via IPG or FreshDesk)
- Investigate integrity assigned cases through to resolution, with appropriate prioritization based on criteria established by the Director of the team, and in line with COPE guidance and established Wiley best practices/standards to appropriate resolution
- Work within established processes to draft, review and publish statements of concern, retraction notices, etc.
- Performance Improvement
- Monitoring the day-to-day performance of vendor teams through their handling of individual tickets, and raise concerns with appropriate team manager;
- Review data routinely to identify concerning patterns of behavior, raising any such issues with the manager/Director;
- Review reporting to identify trends or opportunities for improvement, and provide input on business cases or improvement plans aimed at long-term resolution of performance challenges;
- Lead or participate actively in project-based improvement efforts in partnership with Editorial Excellence and other relevant teams within Publishing Solutions & Performance;
- Take a leading role in integrity clusters comprised of experts of varying levels, as well as engagement with the IPG as appropriate
Training & Development
- Stay abreast of topical issues in the field of research integrity and publishing ethics through attendance of both virtual and local seminars/webinars/conferences, extensive reading of industry publications (e.g., RetractionWatch, The Scholarly Kitchen, etc.)
What We Look For:
- Have at least 4-8 years of experience in scholarly publishing
- Highly trained in integrity and ethics best practices, able to manage complex integrity cases efficiently and autonomously
- Excellent collaboration skills with various internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent English skills
