About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Controller to oversee the financial performance of our 90M€ revenue lighting business, covering both commercial operations and factory activities. This role plays a key part in driving financial performance, ensuring robust reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making. The Financial Controller will also manage a Chief Accountant, ensuring strong collaboration between accounting compliance and business controlling.
Key Responsibilities
Performance & Business Partnering
- Drive the optimization of financial performance, with a strong focus on sales, margins, and SG&A monitoring.
- Develop and monitor key financial and operational KPIs, providing insights to management and collecting feedback from business teams.
- Act as a trusted partner to management, supporting decision-making through ad-hoc analysis and business recommendations.
Planning & Reporting
- Lead the forecasting and budgeting cycles, ensuring alignment with group standards and local business needs.
- Provide timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting to management and group finance.
- Ensure visibility on business trends and variances through regular analysis and commentary.
Cash & Working Capital Management
- Monitor and improve working capital performance, with a focus on DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and DIO (Days Inventory Outstanding).
- Identify and implement initiatives to optimize cash flow and strengthen the balance sheet.
Team Leadership & Governance
- Manage and develop the Chief Accountant, ensuring accuracy and reliability of statutory and management reporting.
- Ensure compliance with auditors, internal controls, group policies, and local accounting standards.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency in financial processes.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification is a plus).
- Proven experience of 8 years as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Business Partner in a manufacturing / industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of management controlling (sales, margin, SG&A) and factory controlling.
- Solid expertise in forecasting, budgeting, and KPI management.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize working capital and cash management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive business mindset.
- Leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring finance professionals.
- Strong communication skills; able to interact effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders and in a multi-cultural environment.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (D365 is a plus), advanced Excel and Power BI experience.
- Fluent in French/English, additional languages are a plus.
