General Summary
Bonnier Books UK is looking for a senior marketing manager/head of marketing, to join our team on a fixed-term contract to cover a period of parental leave from January 2026. We are looking for a senior voice with expertise in working on and delivering exceptional marketing campaigns for debut authors and new launches. You’ll be working across our biggest fiction campaigns on our Manilla Press and Footnote list which is the home to bestselling authors and titles including Stacey Halls, Kat Dunn, Louise Nealon and Days at the Morisaki Bookshop. This role will also involve working on inspiring and landmark non-fiction launches for Ithaka and Leap.
We're looking for a senior marketer who can thrive in a fast-paced environment as a team player, with exceptional communication and organisation skills and the ability to deliver best in class consumer marketing campaigns. You’ll be a vital part of our team, managing author and agent communications seamlessly and bring new ideas and ways of thinking to the teams you work with. You’ll have excellent relationships with bookshops and be a real advocate for creating word of mouth sensations.
Key Responsibilities
- Devise, implement and deliver best in class consumer-focused marketing campaigns – including strategy, planning, execution and reporting – to a consistently high level
- Delivers multi-channel marketing campaigns, exercising expertise across digital/social, outdoor and budget planning
- Deliver marketing campaigns that meet broader business targets and achieve the best return on investment for the business
- Contributes to author growth strategies including market positioning, marketing and promotional copy and identifying avenues for market growth
- Leads on effective and timely communications with stakeholders, both internal and external, on marketing strategy and marketing plans
- Works collaboratively across departments – particularly with Sales, Publicity and Editorial and International – to set effective marketing strategy that are geared towards meeting sales targets and delivering growth
- Manages 2+ line reports, setting clear goals for their development and supporting and mentoring them to deliver on their objectives
- Contributes to driving positive change, share learnings and upskilling others in the Marketing Team. Contributes to identifying opportunities for innovation and growth across the business.
Qualifications And Experience
- More than five year’s experience of delivering effective marketing campaigns for literary and reading group fiction and nonfiction
- Management experience
- A proactive project manager who brings teams together, forward plans across the year and delivers to deadlines
- Experience successfully managing budgets
- Exceptional communication skills, presentation and stakeholder relationship management skills
- A confident senior voice who is immersed in the contemporary fiction and literary market
- Experience in delivering impactful content and creative that tells a story
- Understanding of how to analyse audience data and apply learnings
- Up to date with market trends including paid media market
- A team player
