A hands-on technical role that is accountable for designing, delivering, and running Database Services for the Australia Post Group public cloud providers including the provision and management of the specific technical service. Carries out maintenance, monitoring, and support for infrastructure to ensure the stable operations of the organisations Database Services environment. Delivery focus may include RFC's (Minor Works), estimations, design and development work to time, budget, and quality targets and in accordance with appropriate standards. Overall responsibility for ensuring service delivery meets the agreed business demand at the quality required, delivers business value in a cost-effective and timely manner, and that the service provided fulfills the requirements of the Australia Post Group.

What you’ll deliver with us
Industry And Function
- Extensive experience in managing large, complex, and critical Operational IT environments in a 24/7 capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in Database related technologies in both on-premises and Cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience in the design, implementation, and support of infrastructure solutions.
- Experience with infrastructure project delivery.
- Exposure to multiple database technologies with MSSQL and Oracle is preferable.
- History of large-scale Database services transformations using change management structures.
- Proven initiative through effective problem management with demonstrable improvements i.e. reduction in incidents, improved SLA, improved availability and reliability, etc.
- Has streamlined the service by using robust processes and automation wherever possible.
Technical and/or Professional Qualifications/Skills Required
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related discipline.
- Excellent planning, communication, and presentation skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence outcomes.
- Ability to interpret and provide input to complex IT designs.
- Proven operational experience is a requirement in: o AWS, GCP, or Azure PostgresSQL o AWS, GCP, or Azure MySQL o Microsoft or Azure SQL
- Operational experience with Oracle RAC aware or Exadata databases would be looked upon favourably.
- Knowledge and experience with technologyspecific coding language for automation, e.g. PowerShell, Terraform or Ansible
- Excellent management of high-volume change management requirements.
- Certification is desired.
**Participate in 24 x 7 operational support roster and deliver scheduled changes outside of core business hours.**
