Nestled in the heart of Adelaide’s vibrant CBD, the elegant Mayfair Hotel is entering a new era of excellence — joining the IHG Hotels & Resorts family in December 2025 and converting from Mayfair Hotel Adelaide to Kimpton Mayfair Adelaide in Q3 2026. We are on the lookout for a Human Resources Manager to oversee the HR function working closely with department heads and the executive leadership team, to ensure our teams are equipped and engaged to deliver exceptional service. You will guide the people strategy for the hotel through the transition and rebrand and ongoing, will be responsible for implementing HR strategies that foster a positive and productive work environment, align with company goals, and comply with all relevant legal requirements.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but mostly you will:

• Lead the HR function, managing all HR operations including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and training and development.
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in alignment with brand and company standards and local regulations.
• Oversee talent acquisition and retention strategies to ensure a high-performing, diverse workforce.
• Provide guidance and support to managers on employee performance, development, and conflict resolution.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, and maintain up-to-date employee records.
• Develop and manage HR budgets, including payroll administration and benefits programs.
• Promote a culture of employee engagement and development through effective communication and team-building initiatives.
• Guide the hotel’s people strategy and change management plan throughout the conversion and rebrand journey across all stages of workforce planning, recruitment, and training.
• Collaborate with senior management to support the hotel’s strategic goals and business objectives.

What we need from you

This role is pivotal to the success of our hotel, so to see this through we’re looking for a talented professional with the perfect blend of human resources expertise, strategic vision, operational understanding, people leadership, and business acumen. 

In Addition, You Will Possess:

• Ability to work autonomously and manage workload and key deliverables within a project timeline.
• Capacity to build and lead a high-performing and engaged team and commitment to developing and coaching colleagues. 
• High level communication and relationship management skills, collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Strong business acumen, results-oriented and commitment to driving continual improvement.
• Proficiency in HR and Payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
• Prior experience within hotel operations in a HR leadership role. Experience in Luxury & Lifestyle brands is advantageous.
• Tertiary education within a Human Resources, Business, Psychology or related field. 
• Full Australian Working Rights.
