FLSmidth is currently recruiting for a Production Planner to join the team at Melbourne, VIC to ensure sufficient resources and information is available to manufacture products on time and to the customer’s specifications.

To be successful in the role you must come from a production environment and have experience in manufacturing planning. You will have excellent time management skills, with a high sense of urgency and ability to effectively prioritise your work. You will have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate a win, win situation for all parties concerned. A high-level understanding of ERP is essential.

Job Scope:

  • Ensure that production orders are scheduled while optimizing manufacturing efficiencies using agreed planning methodologies and tools
  • Ensure that ERP dashboard actions and exception reports are managed for manufactured and raw material parts while optimizing on-hand inventory and meeting service requirements
  • Resolving shortages of purchased materials and customer expedites that require escalation through the plant
  • Ensure that appropriate material, plant, method and other master data are maintained in the ERP and other systems as necessary
  • Investigate root cause analysis for schedule adherence failures for the plant and participate in improvement initiatives
  • Assist Supervisor and/or Operations Manager as required or directed

What You Bring

  • Experience utilizing ERP database systems i.e. Epicor 9, Pronto, SAP or similar systems.
  • Proficiencies in Excel, Word and Microsoft Project skills
  • Job or Project Planning, scheduling and execution experience
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work in a team or individually on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships
  • Willingness to learn and undergo job specific training (ex. software/project/sampling)
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of Project Management concepts
  • Exposure to the strip / assess / refurbishment of minerals processing equipment in either project management, workshop management or estimating fields an advantage
  • Mechanical aptitude an advantage
  • Previous experience in a workshop environment an advantage
  • Drawing interpretation
