Role Overview
The Associate Production Manager supports the Senior Manager of Production in driving end-to-end product execution — from sourcing and cost negotiations through on-time delivery. This role serves as a key liaison between internal cross-functional partners and overseas factories, ensuring production milestones are met, quality standards are upheld, and business objectives are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Manager across all sourcing, costing, and production functions.
- Manage the production process from PO placement through final delivery, maintaining proactive communication with overseas vendors.
- Facilitate and update monthly buy plans in alignment with business timelines.
- Monitor WIP reports weekly to ensure all T&A milestones and delivery dates are met.
- Maintain and update buy trackers, PO issuance, revisions, and system accuracy.
- Approve shipment modes and vessel schedules to ensure timely delivery.
- Partner with mills and factories on material staging, capacity planning, and order placement to meet contracted delivery targets.
- Collaborate with QA teams to maintain product quality throughout the production lifecycle.
- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, workflow, and visibility across teams.
- Ensure timely vendor bookings and enforce adherence to approved production and shipping schedules.
- Manage special projects and support cross-functional initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of production experience within the apparel industry
- Cut & sew background required, women’s apparel experience a plus
- Strong understanding of fabrics, trims, yields, cost components, and garment construction
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, product testing, and compliance standards
- Proven ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-up skills with a strong attention to detail
- Experience collaborating with overseas vendors, mills, and internal partners across functions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills (v-lookups, pivot tables, data analysis)
- ERP experience required; SAP proficiency a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proactive, team-oriented mindset
This a hybrid role, with 4 days in our Irvine, CA office
PAY RATE: $80,000/yr$94,000/yr
