Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining all aspects of our community operations. Conducting under supervisor direction, preventive maintenance, routine servicing, seasonal repairs and changes, building equipment and plumbing repairs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs general maintenance duties, such as: fixing wall covers, floor covers and some furniture and fixtures; light plumbing work, minor electrical repair and appliance repairs.
- Assists or performs work on the heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems, refrigeration systems, pumps, motors, fans, electrical systems and emergency generators.
- Performs painting and refurbishing projects, as directed by supervisor.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance, as directed by supervisor.
- Performs minor building and equipment repairs.
- Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
- Assists, during winter, with snow removal efforts.
- Assists, during spring, summer, and fall, with landscaping, and grounds maintenance.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicates effectively, and performs simple arithmetic.
- Boiler License or CPO certification preferred.
- Training or experience with electrical, plumbing, and painting in a complex commercial, industrial or healthcare setting preferred.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools.
- Computer skills proficient to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
